Bus Shelters

JVH Technology has been supplying and installing Bus Shelters for local and state government departments for over 20 years. During this time, JVH Technology has altered its focus to improve both quality and integrity with engineered certifications being attained for several bus shelter designs. Of the engineered shelter designs, JVH Technology has manufactured and installed approximately 150 shelters over the past 5 years.

The fabrication of bus shelters is conducted locally at our warehouse and incorporates all associated works with the assistance of local service providers and the use of locally acquired materials wherever feasible. The shelters incorporate the use of galvanised materials, corrosive resistant fabrication processes and are cleaned, primed and powder-coated for installation in any environment.

Bus Shelter Repair and Maintenance

JVH also maintains the capabilities to conduct repair work either on-site or fabrication work at our premises in order to maintain existing structures. This includes the installation/repair of seating and the repair of damaged structures.

DDA Compliance Works

JVH Technology confirms that it satisfies the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 with reference to Part 2- Section 24;

“By making facilities available, it is unlawful to discriminate against another person on the grounds of their disability.”

With this taken into consideration, various shelter designs have allowed for double wheelchair access with adequate clearance and manoeuvrability for wheelchairs.

Concrete and Tactile Works

People with disabilities deserve to have safe and catered access to the built environment. According to an online survey by Vision 2020 Australia, National Disability Services (NDS) and the Australian Blindness Forum (ABF), there are currently around 600 000 Australians who are blind or have impaired vision. The ageing of Australia’s population is expected to see the number of people with vision impairment double in 25 years.

With a consistent application of AS 1428.4.1 (Design for access and mobility – Part 4.1: Means to assist the orientation of people with vision impairment—Tactile ground surface indicators), JVH Technology wishes to provide a practical and safe experience for all public transport users.

Additionally, JVH Technology undertakes DDA compliance works with regards to the installation of Tactile ground surface indicators (TGSIs) for stops where no shelter is provided.
